Came here for the first time on a Saturday and the place was packed. Very intimate and cozy atmosphere. The interior is chic and lit a bit darker for the ambiance, reminds me a bit of some of the NYC restaurants I’ve dined in especially their bar wall. Service was efficient and friendly, waters were topped often and our server was always around for questions. Our table had gotten the bread, risotto, steak frites, scallops, salad e Nicoise and tartare. My friends enjoyed their mains and everything came out around the same time. The tartare was really good you could taste all the flavours of the capers, anchovies etc. and they gave you a good portion of bread crisps with it. The tuna Niçoise salad could have a slight improvement to the dressing. I love that the tuna was super fresh and just lightly seasoned so you can taste the fish but the greens portion had no taste other than olive oil, even more of a hint of salt and pepper or some infused olive oil would have made the dish better. The bread and butter were good but it is $7 for it whereas some French places just offer free bread. The drinks were amazing. Great price for the presentation and alcohol content. I had fallen in love with one of the cocktail glasses and the owner was kind enough to let me know exactly where to purchase it and to take a picture of the glass so I could ensure it was the right one when I ordered it. I had been looking everywhere for a ribbed cocktail glasses that was lightweight and was so happy when they helped me find where to order it. Would come back again!

We finally made it to Elise, a new gem in Ottawa that has been on our list for a while, and it did not disappoint. This beautifully designed spot offers a modern twist on French cuisine, and the cozy, welcoming vibe was perfect for some much-needed girl time. • The space itself is warm, stylish, and inviting. They offer a set brunch menu: five small, beautifully crafted entrées (think delicate amuse-bouches) followed by your choice of main. Each bite was creative, unexpected, and perfectly executed. It was a wonderful way to ease into the meal. • For our main, we both chose the turkey cranberry sandwich which is basically Thanksgiving dinner reimagined into a sandwich. Comforting, rich, and so satisfying. • With its friendly service, beautifully presented food, and charming atmosphere, Elise is definitely a spot we will be visiting again, next time, for dinner!

My fiancé and I had an amazing experience at Elise. Our server, Sam, was incredible. I started with an Aperol spritz and it was made very well. We had the beef tartar and the fresh bread, both were delicious. For our mains we had the steak frites and the scallops. The steak was delicious and the scallops were out of the world. The crème brûlée was fantastic. I will say the espresso wasn’t as amazing as a place such as Fratelli. One important note, we did mention it was a pretty special occasion on the reservation notes and it was not acknowledged at all. Why ask then? Sam was an amazing server, the atmosphere was amazing and the restaurant design and menu are well thought out.

A charming spot with wonderful service, and a stylish, trendy vibe. The French-inspired menu shines, with dishes like champignons frits, salade niçoise and magret de canard, offering rich flavors. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, and the generous pour was also appreciated! The ambiance makes it ideal for both casual meals and special occasions.

Love this new little bistro in the village. Beautiful presentation, but more importantly, the food was delicious. Slightly pricey, but worth every penny. Highly recommend. I’ll definitely return.

Elise is a lovely addition to the Wellington restaurant scene. The plates are beautifully designed and portions align with finer cuisine sizing. I had the duck breast dish and the duck was cooked perfectly. It was tender and paired with a delicious sauce. The rest of the dish was an odd pairing for my palette but perhaps more varied restaurant goers would enjoy the combinations served. I will say, whatever I thought was lacking with the meal was made up for with service. The staff were phenomenal, checking in with our table often, providing excellent personalized service. Our water was never empty, the servers provided excellent recommendations and the restaurant was so clean. A beautiful atmosphere and picture perfect background. A lovely addition and would definitely give it another shot. Other important notes, they had a good selection of spirit free drinks and several parking spots available close by.
